Large Flanged Bowl no.1

This is the largest of four similar bowls.  On the rim are four groups of animals, separated by human heads.  The central medallion shows a huntsman confronting a bear.  This dish was damaged, probably by the plough, when found.

In memory of Dr F R Barwell, in practice in Mildenhall 1908-1939.

Sponsored by his son John R Barwell.
